Okay, so I try to keep my blog posts informative and loaded with tips on home staging and home selling. I’ll throw in some home decorating and home improvement tips here or there to add a little spice. What I’ve never done is complain. At least not until today.
I was curious about a home recently listed in my neighborhood and went to the agents site to check it out. The main photo of the exterior wasn’t too bad. Maybe not nice enough to get a buyer to click through or to catch their attention, but it was good enough for me.
Understanding as I do, that buyers are going to run for the hills screaming if the listing photos look anything at all like this one, I was stunned.
What in the world was this agent thinking? A bathroom that looks like this as photo number ONE? I’m sure there must be some sort of reasonable explanation but quite frankly, I don’t get it.
Maybe he was rushing to get the listing on his site or maybe his “assistant did it”. Regardless of the reasons, I’m pretty sure the agent could have come up with something better than this.
Home sellers trust their Realtor to know how to market their property and how to present it to home buyers in the very best way. Educated home sellers also know that they have a very limited amount of time to catch a buyers attention on the internet.
If this was my house and I was being asked to pay close to $20,000 in commissions, this agent would be fired.
Until next time,
